Life’s a Lugo-Beach is BACK!

Wow, 3 years? I can’t believe it’s been that long since the last time I blogged. I keep trying to figure out what happened. I think life just got really busy. Around the same time I stopped, Myles and I were just starting our journey of buying a house. We’ve now had said house for almost three years now, but it was a huge adjustment to go from renter to homeowner! Apart from saving and searching, once the process is underway, there’s so many little things to be done that you need to pay attention to. The inspection is the first thing that comes to mind. And it didn’t help that we dealt with a major issue our first few months of living in the house– an issue that ran us around $10,000 when all was said and done. All that bullshit aside though, I absolutely love being a homeowner with Myles. It took some time to fill this house up, and it’s something that never really ends, but it just feels like OUR home, because it is.

Aside from that, I think I put too much pressure on myself when it came to this blog. I started this blog because I LOVE writing. Ever since I was little, writing was the way I chose to express my creativity. I wanted to be an author at one point, and then most of you know my career journey now. I went to school to be a reporter, which is centered around writing, before I chose to dive into the PR/Communications side of things. Even in this realm, my job is still all about writing, which is why I love it so much! But when I started this blog, I wanted to be consistent about posting vs. just having fun with it. At one point, I wanted to release one blog a week on the same day at the same time! What in the world was I thinking?! That really stressed me out (for no reason) and made something that was supposed to be fun into what started to feel like a job…

But I’ve really missed writing on a personal level, which is why I started this back up. If you poke around on the website, you’ll see I did a little revamp. It’s no longer a “travel, beauty and lifestyle blog” but rather “traveling and thinking”. This blog will still center around the amazing travels I get to do with Myles, but it will also just serve as an outlet for me to write about whatever’s on my mind at the time. There will be nothing consistent– meaning I could go from posting one blog a month to posting three in one week. It’s going to be FUN, something I need in my life as I get older and life seems to be getting more serious.

But I’ve had a lot of amazing things happen these past three years, from getting engaged to starting the best job of my career. I can’t wait to tell you all about it. ❤

XOXO,
Crys
